Greening the Ridge Annual Festival
The First Annual Greening the Ridge festival was held on June 22, 2008 on the 69th Street Veteran’s Memorial Pier in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. This festival brought the community together to celebrate our waterfront and learn about programs and initiatives to make our communities more eco-friendly.

With hundreds in attendance on this sunny day, the Sunset-Ridge Waterfront Alliance successfully brought the first environmentally-focused festival to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. SRWA was given proclamations by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, Council Member Vincent Gentile, and Assembly Member Janele Hyer-Spencer.
Through this annual festival, SRWA will continue its mission to connect our community and our waterfront. By creating an alliance with our local businesses, schools, and residents, and with full support of our elected officials, SRWA is dedicated to this annual festival for the community.
